Four walls

Canadian singer Pauline Julien did a French version of Jim Reeves’ “Four Walls.”

I remembered a few lines of that song just now in my four walls:

Quatre murs me hantent,
quatre murs me voient,
quatre murs sont tristes

I won’t subscribe to the next line, though (“depuis que tu n’es plus là”) because this state of mine is a recurrent affair and has nothing to do with anybody’s absence or presence.

Unless I’m wrong about that.
