Terminator

That cruel smiley face I knew from somewhere. And then it sunk in with certainty: I’d seen it from under the pile of bodies, in that pestilential place of ethnic cleansing, in Bosnia.

The task at Trifecta was to write a horror story in 33 words (without the words blood, scream, died, death, knife, gun or kill).

This was somewhat inspired by Oliver Stone’s 1998 movie Savior, which is about the atrocity of the civil war in Bosnia.

  1. Very different from the other entries. Awful imagery. (shudder)

  2. JannatWrites says:

I never saw the movie, but the scene is disturbing. Nice job.

  3. basinah says:

Having had loved ones who were “peacekeepers” there, this evokes much. Well done.

  4. colonialist says:

This certainly hits the panic button.

  5. Very effective, James. I have not seen that Oliver Stone film; will definitely add to my Netflix queue. The smiley face, what a place to use it – chilling! Amy
